Transformer history for beginners.
This is a lot, if you have any questions Email me and I'll try to answer them. 
Remember, this is taken in part from original comic, classic TV, TF the Movie,
Generation 2 comics, Beast Wars, and a bastardization of my own to link them all.
 
Long ago a geat force of Evil swallowed the galaxy. It's name was Unicron, the
devourer of worlds. At the last moment of it's terrible feast, there was an
explosion of light and energy. From this explosion walked the gods of light. Among
them was one who was destined to deal solely with the threat of Unicron.
It's name was Primus. Primus and Unicron fought for millenia and Primus realized
that the only way to stop the dark god was to trap him in an asteroid, a dead
planet. He pulled the dark god with him into the astral plane where their war raged
on. Then he tricked him into returning inside of an asteroid. Unfortunately
Primus was forced to do the same. Thus the birth of the planet Primus and the planet
Unicron.
 
Note, there were many Primus' that were created and many Unicrons.

After the two worlds were created, they found a new way to pass on their war. To
continue it's feast, Unicron formed into gigantic living planets that could alter
their shape into daemonic monsters. To defend, Primus created a race of super
warriors... The Transformers. They
learned to adapt to anything, and they grew stronger. This is their history, it
begins on the planet called Primus. Looking something like a gigantic metallic
mollecule, it contained the center Primus, and 6 'moons' all connected by great
arches of railings and tunnels. Each of these planets produced a new form of
Transformer. Two forces began to war with each other though. The Legion, who craved
war and power. And the Cybertrons, who were built for defense and
adaptability...

Now we move to Cybertron, home of Transformers as we know them:
 
CYBERTRON
The Great Rebuilding (First Golden Age?)
 Span: @300 years
 End/Outcome: Election for a new Prime for Matrix of Leadership to be passed
to. 
 Rising of gang-like rebels calling themselves Legion, led by Nemesis
 
The 1st Great War
 Cybertron vs Destron
 leaders: Optimus Prime and Megatron
 Span: 100?s of years???
 Reason: Political disagreements between Optimus Prime and Megatron (rule
through peace /vs/ be the peacemakers, by force if neccessary) 
 End/Outcome: Peace alliance to rebuild as Cybertron begins a new orbit around
a double star system. (Energon is plentiful, planet was nearly destroyed)
 
Golden Era (Second Golden Age?)
 Span: 100's of years?
 Reason: Rebuild Cybertron
 End/Outcome: Cybertron ?drifted/Forced? out of solar orbit. Thrust into deep
space again. Solar panels cannot supply Energon.
 
2nd Great War
 Cybertron vs Destron
 Span: Millenium
 Reason: Energon and Conquest
Notes(on second great war):
 Two elite factions rose in the Cybertron and Destron armies. These faction
were named Autobot and Decepticon. A robot named ?Galvatron? took
command of the Destrons, while Megatron led the Decepticons. Likewise shuffle with
Convoy and Optimus Prime. 
 
100 years into 2 Great War: 
 An asteroid field is seen, Cybertron will be destroyed if it is not taken
care of. The elitist Autobots were sent in the most pawerful and well equipped ship
on cybertron, the ARK. Megatron and his Decepticons attacked the Ark after it's
mission was complete. The two ships and there troops crashed on a small planet
that Cybertron was passing.




 
@ 4 million BC on Earth.
 Both forces are left in stasis lock for 4 million years 
 shortly after the crash, Shockwave comes searching, the Dinobots are created
to deal with him ,and they defeat him. All lost in a pool of tar
 
@ 100000 BC on Earth
 Two more Cybertronain ships crashed on Earth. The Axalon and a Predacon
ship. 
 The Beast Wars begins
 
1984
 The occupants of the Ark awaken and the Great War begins again on Earth
 
1987? 
 Cybertron is again contacted and the war is still raging there as well. 
Decepticons rule the planet (Cybertron) at the time. 
 
1992
 Jhiaxus and his Generation 2 Decepticons force a temporary treaty between
Optimus and Megatron. Many Cybertrons are found (planets terraformed by
liege Maximo).
 
1999?
 Rodimus, Galvatron, Ultra Magnus, Springer, and Arcee appear in the Time Wars
 
 
2010 
 Unicron attacks Cybertron 
 Optimus Prime and Megatron Die. Rodimus Prime and Galvatron take leadership.
 Maximal and Predicon Factions are born as new Cybertronians come from planets
like Quintessa and Junkion.
 
2015 
 Starting point for those involved in Time Wars (see above)
 
2018
 Optimus Prime returns, is given Matrix of Leadership and Creation back
 
2025
 Peace is achieved
 Decepticons are disbanded completely. If they did not swear alliegance to
Destrons or Predicons they were destroyed or imprisoned. Some still remain in
the shadows(or claim allegiance to another faction... ie: Ravage)




 
 Transwarp technology is refined in this period of peace- Transwarp enables
the travel of time AND space. It is still rare.
 CR chambers are refined (repair chambers capable of total body reformation)
 Exploration is headed by the Maximals
 The Matrix Vat and Creation Pit are used to make new Maximals and Predacons




 
2350
 There is a report of a stolen Golden disk. Cybertron's most carefully
guarded secret. On the disk is the coordinates of a powerful energon source. 
 The only ship to stop the Predacon thieves is the Axalon, a Maximal 
Exploration vessel with approximately 50 proto-forms in stasis for exploration
purposes. The ships disappear and are lost
 
2351 
 Another Predacon rogue ship is chased to a planet named Gaia. There are
rumors of the retrun of Convoy (he was killed before the end of the last Great
War)

Also, here are some notes on the memory span of Transformers. They can not remember
everything, their databanks would become over-saturated. This is a
guestamation of their length of memory:
 
MEMORIES:
 
 50 years flawless
 250 human
 500 very rarely
 
 These are more or less the maximums for the categories, there is no defining
set, it varies TF to TF and with Int, and functions...




 
TRANSWARP:
 Travel through time and space. Only 10 exploration vessels and 5 battle
ships are known to have them.
 
EARTH:
 Unknown, forgotten, a myth. There has not been contact with Earth for
hundreds of years.
 
AUTOBOTS:
 Disbanded as a show of 'good faith' when the Pax Cybertronia was signed.
 
PAX CYBERTRONIA:
 Treaty between all factions that outlawed the Decepticon elitest force. Each
faction has a say in government, and peace has ruled on Cybertron for
centuries.
 
SPARK:
 a transformers 'soul'
 
MATIX OF CREATION AND LEADERSHIP:
 Contains the combined wisdom of those who have had the privledge to join with
it (in death) It is able to create new sparks, and is held by the most
powerful and wisest of the Transformers. After Optimus Prime used it to create the
Creation Vat and The Pit, both he and the Matrix
disappeared. It is rumored that he returned to a planet called Earth to live in
peace with some remaining Autobots.
 
The PIT and THE CREATION VAT:
 create sparks (mass production for exploration)
 
PROTOFORMS:
 Newly made bodies housing sparks. They look like liquid metal in a humanoid
shape. They reside in Stasis pods until a planet is reached by an exploration
vessel. The pod is launched to planets surface, where DNA scanning is done on local
life forms. The protoform is made to
transform into one of the locals so that it may explore without notice.
